My family and I have always been obsessed with music…and pizza.

We grew up in New Jersey and moved to the D.C. area in 2001 to open Jammin Java, a music club in Vienna, VA. We missed the pizza in New Jersey. In 2017, we opened Union Stage, a music club at The Wharf in Washington, D.C. We were under such pressure to get Union Stage open in time that we opened with a “pizza only” menu, planning to add more items soon. The pizza was such a hit that we never added anything else!

Word spread quickly about the delicious and unique pizza at Union Stage and The Wharf asked us to open the stand-alone kiosk in September 2018. We named it “Union Pie” - a name that connects the pizza’s origins at Union Stage and the “bar pie” style pizza we serve. We now serve Union Pie pizza at the kiosk, Union Stage, and Jammin Java and have plans to open more locations.

Union Pie serves a unique style of pizza called a “bar pie” or “bar pizza”. It is common in New Jersey and New York. It has a very thin crust with very high-quality toppings that go all the way to the edge of the pizza.
